MY APPROACH

Using the foundations of PMP project management and a project management tool like Monday has allowed the company to lay the foundations for project monitoring. It also allows all areas involved in the same project to have visibility of the project phases and status. In addition to using tools that help manage multi-departmental projects, the key has been in the individualized work with each project leader, using business coaching knowledge as well as skills such as empathy, active listening and conflict resolution.

RESULTS AND BENEFITS
  • Provide visibility of the execution and results of projects to general management. Allowing timely decisions to be made and the results of their implementation to be assessed.

  • Align management, middle management and technicians, improving communication and teamwork between them from 8 different departments.

  • Implement and establish project management dynamics both at middle management and executive level through periodic sessions designed ad hoc to the needs of the company.

  • Increase communication between departments involved in the same project through follow-up meetings, joint dashboards and individualised follow-up in specific cases.

All this has helped the company to achieve, among others, the following milestones:

  1. Expand its online business by entering marketplaces such as Zalando, About You and Laredoute.

  2. Improve its online shopping experience by adding new features and services to its website.

  3. Launch its new loyalty club by grouping together different services that adapt to the different purchasing moments of the customer.

  4. Digitize key company processes in the financial, logistics, warehouse, and IT infrastructure areas.

LESSONS LEARNED

The biggest challenges in implementing new bodies within an organisation are usually related to people management: resistance to change, or distrust of someone outside the organisation. In this case, my work as a trusted person for them has been key, managing to be one more person within the organisation. It has also been key to take distance and work with a 360º view, trying at all times to have an objective position and not lean or belong more to one area than another.
